It's that time of year again -- entries for the National Homebrew Competition will be received April 4 through 15. More information can be found here. I don't plan to enter anything this year, although maybe I'll change my mind after I finally taste that amber lager that sat in the carboy aging for three months after I broke my leg.
Also from the Brewers' Association, check out this list (pdf) of the top fifty brewing companies in America. These are all breweries, not just craft brewers. Interestingly, half of the top fifty breweries (and over 500 breweries total) can be found in just five states: California, Oregon, Colorado, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Four of the top fifty breweries are Colorado based. They are (in order) Coors, New Belgium, Rock Bottom and Flying Dog.
