While writing my last post I learned and shared that the Air America station in Albuquerque is also the Denver Broncos radio station there. Of course I already knew Albuquerque is Bronco country (sorry to disappoint any Cowboys fans may have thought otherwise -- OK, no I'm not). I figured the Broncos command primary NFL loyalty over a larger land area than any other team, but I didn't know the exact territorial extent of Bronco Nation.
Now I have found the official web page showing the Denver Broncos Radio Network, and it covers an even larger territory than I thought, including western Kansas (which I didn't expect), western Nebraska, all of Wyoming, most of New Mexico and Montana, both Dakotas (probably some overlap with the Vikings there) and even Las Vegas, Nevada, which probably would be local territory for a Los Angeles franchise if there was one. Just as surprising as Vegas being on the list, though, is the fact that there are no Utah stations in the Broncos network. I can't imagine they are Arizona Cardinals fans in Salt Lake City, so who gets the local love there? The 49ers or Raiders? Seems unlikely. Maybe they just love their college football.
